Mark Zurschmeide is an owner of Bluemont Vineyard. He brings to Bluemont Vineyard approximately 20 years farming and business experience. Mark has owned and operated Great Country Farms LLC since 1993 which is a u-pick fruit and vegetable farm in Loudoun County, Virginia right across the street from Bluemont Vineyard. Mark has experience growing fruits and grapes for u-pick and wine making is a natural extension of these growing skills. Mark has experience in fruit and vegetable wholesale including working with Wegmans, farmers markets and direct farm marketing. Mark is a member of the Virginia Farmers Direct Marketing Association and North American Farmers Direct Marketing Association. The Zurschmeide Family has been farming in Loudoun County for over 30 years and has roots in Indiana. The family in Indiana operates a winery and u-pick farming operation as well. Mark attended West Virginia University majoring in Business and Finance where he met Bluemont Vineyard partner, Bob Rupy as a freshman.
