Bluemont Book Club

April 25th

6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Calling all readers and wine enthusiasts!

We are SO thrilled to share that our first session of Bluemont Book Club was a smashing success! You all made it a witty, thoughtful, thoroughly fun group experience, exceeding our already high hopes for this event!

For the April 2024 session of Bluemont Book Club, we will be reading . . . The Thursday Murder Club, a debut novel of English BBC TV presenter and comedian Richard Osman!

Here’s the book’s blurb from Penguin Random House . . .

“In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet weekly in the Jigsaw Room to discuss unsolved crimes; together they call themselves the Thursday Murder Club.

When a local developer is found dead with a mysterious photograph left next to the body, the Thursday Murder Club suddenly find themselves in the middle of their first live case.

As the bodies begin to pile up, can our unorthodox but brilliant gang catch the killer, before it’s too late?”

Our gatherings won’t just be about turning pages – there will also be wine!

Tickets are $25.00 per guest and include one book club discussion per month and a curated tasting of three Virginia wines or a glass of your choice per meeting in the company of fellow reading enthusiasts. But unlike our typical guided tasting options, your ticket also comes with book banter. After all - nothing pairs with wine quite so well as a cozy atmosphere, insightful conversation, and the cracked spine of a good book!

Your wine guide and book talk facilitator for April 2024’s Bluemont Book Club session will be Jordan Parker Martinez.

Nestled on a reading chair with a cozy, murder mystery. That's her vibe. Jordan Martinez is a former middle school teacher who wants to trade her adolescent book clubs for wine-sippin' adult chit chats. When it comes to book clubs (or not book clubs) she loves lively conversation and commentary that involves varying perspectives and new insights! If you have questions about the wine you're sipping she's more than happy to discuss that too!

Tickets are non-refundable. Guests are required to purchase their preferred version of the book to read and bring with them for book club meetings.
