Do you hear what I hear? The holidays are officially here!
It’s time to officially raise your glass and toast to all of this years milestones.
With this time of year comes all of the celebrations, and if you’re anything like us… nothing excites us more than a good party! If it’s your turn to host this year, we’ve got your back. From our table to yours, we’re giving you 5 tips to put a glamorous spin on your holiday season.
#1 Set the mood with a festive tablescape.
The table is the center of your home and where your family and friends gather to celebrate, nourish your bodies and create memories- why not make it inviting and fun? Embrace the seasons bounty in your decor. We’re talking about pine cones and evergreens. Add a fun linen to give texture to the table
#2 Go for the gold!
Adorn your table with all your favorite seasonal colors. Think of the traditional red and green, then give your table some elegance by adding in hints of gold. We are loving the gold chargers and holiday plates, the glittery ornaments and accent tea light candles. Get creative, the possibilities are endless!
#3 Dress up your cocktails.
It can be as simple as adding a ribbon to the base of your wine glass or displaying your wine bottles in a fun chiller. Nothing says cozy cocktail like cinnamon, so add a stick to your favorite cider along with a lemon slice. Pull out those wine glasses and champagne flutes that you never use. Wow your guests with a bar setup as fun as your tablescape!
#4 Did someone say cocktail?
It’s not a party without a signature drink! We’re obviously incorporating our favorite wines as much as possible. White wine spritzers with fun garnishes and mulled wine are the perfect addition to your spread. The mulled wine will also have your home smelling marvelous! Greet your guests upon their arrival with a house drink to set the relaxed vibe and mood.
#5 Spice up your sweets.
A well rounded meal always ends with dessert. There is nothing better that pairs with a night-cap like a yummy sweet treat. Enjoy all the classics such as pie, cobbler, cookies and truffles. We are pairing our desert with wine, of course!

Meet Great Country Farms, our sister property located right at the bottom of the hill from the vineyard! The farm is owned and operated by the Zurschmeide family who has been farming in Loudoun County since the 1970s.
In 1993, the second generation of Zurschmeides decided to create a farm where families and friends could come experience and enjoy farm life for everything it has to offer…and that is how Great Country Farms was born (well, that’s the short of it).
Today, the farm is very much involved in the Loudoun community, offering a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program where farm fresh produce is available to its members each week. And they grow just about everything! You can even come out for U-Pick each season to pick your very own fruits and vegetables.
Here’s a quick breakdown season by season:
Spring: strawberries, cherries, and black raspberries
Summer: blueberries, plums, peaches, blackberries, and potatoes.
Fall: apples, concord grapes, pumpkins, spinach, kale, and broccoli
Now, farming isn’t the only thing that keeps the Zurschmeide family is busy. Festivals, birthday parties, corporate picnics, and weddings are always happening throughout the year.
One of the huge festivals coming up is the Peach Fuzztival, August 4th-6th! Great Country Farms, Bluemont Vineyard, and Dirt Farm Brewing all celebrate peach-picking season with peach inspired food and drinks.
We are excited to have you out this Friday for Grilled Peaches & Goat Cheese! We’re sneaking in two farmers this week and featuring George’s Mill Farm as well!

HOW TO SCORE WITH WINE & FOOD THIS SUPER BOWL!
Super Bowl LI is right around the corner. As you start to make your shopping list for delicious appetizers, I’m sure you’ve thought of all the classics…pigs in a blanket, hot wings, nachos, buffalo chicken dip, potato chips, and more! We’re here to help you amp up your Super Bowl spread with the ultimate Super Bowl wine and food pairings. Find your favorite bites and see which wine goes best! We’ve even given you a white wine and a red wine pairing so there is something for every palate.
1. Hot Wings/Buffalo Chicken Dip
These two hot and spicy dishes will light your tastebuds on fire! You need a sweet white and a light-bodied red to alleviate the heat. Our wine picks: Vidal Blanc and Farm Table Red.
2. Pigs in a Blanket
Pigs in a blanket are the perfect finger food that are bound to be a huge crowd pleaser. The warm, doughy croissant wrapped around the savory sausage pairs well with our two flagship wines: Farm Table White and Farm Table Red
3. Nachos/7 Layer Dip
Nachos with meat, cheese, and beans or 7-layer dip will turn your Super Bowl gathering into a fiesta. Classic 7-layer dip includes: refried beans, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, cheddar cheese, black olives, and ground beef (jalapeño chiles can be added if you want to spice it up. Our wine picks: Albariño and Cabernet Franc.
4. Spinach & Artichoke Dip
This creamy dip is a combination of spinach, artichoke hearts, parmesan cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic, and can be served with tortilla chips, pita chips, or carrots/celery sticks. Our wine picks: Petit Manseng and Farm Table Red.
In my opinion, pizza pairs with every varietal of wine, but if you really want to make sure you are pairing like a pro, pair your chees pizza with Farm Table White and your meat pizza with Meritage.
Well, now that we’ve given you everything you need to put together the perfect Super Bowl shopping list, you can start deciding which appetizers you want to make and wine you need to stock up on. If you’re like the majority of the football fans out there, you won’t be able to pick just one and you’ll have ‘em all!
Enjoy your Super Bowl LI party!
