A Taste of Two Chardonnays
On February 13th 2026, we’re excited to invite our club members to a special tasting experience that goes beyond the glass. This intimate gathering will feature a guided, educational exploration of Bluemont Vineyard’s Chardonnay program, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how intention, time, and technique shape one of our most expressive varietals.
Our Signature Series Chardonnay was born in 2016, marking an important chapter in Bluemont Vineyard’s story when Scott Spelbring stepped into the role of winemaker. From the very beginning, the program was designed with purpose—focused on balance, site expression, and a thoughtful approach to winemaking rather than trends. Now, nearly ten years later, the Chardonnay program continues to evolve, reflecting both experience gained and a deep respect for the fruit and the land.
During this tasting, members will have the unique opportunity to enjoy two vintages side by side, highlighting how vintage conditions and winemaking choices influence the final wine.
2023 Chardonnay showcases a cleaner, fresher profile with an emphasis on stainless steel and neutral barrel aging, allowing bright acidity and varietal character to take center stage.
2024 Chardonnay Reserve leans into a richer expression, featuring greater oak influence that adds texture, depth, and layered complexity.
Tasting these wines together offers a rare and rewarding comparison—illustrating how the same varietal can tell two very different stories depending on vintage, cellar decisions, and overall winemaking strategy.
Whether you’re a long-time Chardonnay enthusiast or simply curious to learn more about what goes into crafting these wines, this club-exclusive experience is designed to deepen your appreciation for Bluemont Vineyard’s commitment to intentional winemaking and continuous refinement.
We look forward to raising a glass with you this February as we reflect on where this program began—and where it’s headed next.
