a note from the winemaker
“Wine is made in the vineyard and perfected in the cellar”
Our vineyards span an eastern-facing slope of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Each vineyard location is carefully chosen, taking into account the elevation, slope, and soil composition to best suit the varietal. Each vintage tells its own story and no story is the same from year to year. Be it the late frost, the long hot summer, or the hurricane that hurried harvest, each wine is as unique as the grapes grown that season.
There is a creative ability as a winemaker to blend and shape each bottle in the cellar. In many ways, a winemaker with barrels is like a chef with spices or an artist with paintbrushes. Each bottle of wine is a creative expression of the winemaker’s vision. It is my goal as winemaker to create wines that are balanced and show finesse and structure while also conveying the uniqueness of Bluemont.

Handcrafted to tell the story of each vintage.
The craft of winemaking is an art; an expression or application of human creative skill and imagination. The Signature Series recognizes the unique vision of our winemaker and artist Scott Spelbring.
Though grown primarily in Spain and Portugal, this light-bodied, dry white wine is produced from three different plantings in Loudoun County. 100% stainless steel fermentation at cooler temperatures helps to preserve the bright acidity, notes of lemongrass and peach, and its crisp minerality.
Pairs well with seafood, sushi, grilled vegetables, and a variety of cheeses
Alcohol 13.5%, PH 3.27, TA 6.8. Cases produced: 192
2017 Petit Manseng
100% Petit Manseng
With its origins in Southwest France, Petit Manseng is relatively new to Virginia vineyards. Our dry white 2017 Petit Manseng was hand harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Slightly perfumed aromatics of honeysuckle, ripe banana, and green apple couple with an elevated lingering acidity due to a cooler than average growing season.
Pairs well with squash, root vegetables, poultry, and pork
Alcohol 15%, PH 3.35, TA 7.6, RS DRY. Cases produced: 242
2016 Petit Verdot *Club Only
100% Petit verdot
Originally prized for its blending power, Petit Verdot has found a niche here in Virginia as a stand-alone, single varietal wine. It’s slightly smoky, with hints of lavender, eucalyptus, and a slight touch of dill on the nose. Our 2016 Petit Verdot shows lingering but soft tannin structure and a bright acidity that makes the wine accessible now, but it will also age well over the next three to five years.
Sourced from the Malick vineyard located in Loudoun County
Alcohol 13.7%, PH 3.75, TA 6.0. Cases produced: 166
Our go-to wines to drink at the farm table with family and friends.
Born from blending trials at our family table, the Farm Series pays tribute to our beginnings rooted deep in farming. This series shares approachable qualities, making them our go-to wines for any occasion and every gathering.
2017 Vidal Blanc “The Cow”

2017 Rosé “The Donkey”
94% Chambourcin, 6% Petit Manseng
This refreshing, off-dry Rosé is made using grapes from the Haverty Vineyard (Aldie, VA) and a splash of Petit Manseng.
